Activities

The Village Hall Committee runs events normally once a month.  See the calendar on the Forthcoming events page for details.

The Churchill Arms is right in the centre of the village.  It is open all day from Tuesday to Sunday afternoon and serves great food as well as 'proper' beer.   Here are some reviews: Country Life July 2018The Times April 2017Cotswolds Gazette Apr 2017

The following clubs run in Paxford:

  • Paxford Ladies. All ladies very welcome.
  • Walking group
Villagers also take part in a wide range of activities in the neighbouring villages of Chipping Campden, Blockley and Ebrington.

FORD to FORD HILL FARM

An easy walk with 1 slope up the gallops at Ford.  About 5 miles

Meet in the parking area opposite The Plough at Ford.  (JP)

Note – Coffee available at The Plough on our return if required.

SALFORD to CORNWELL

A moderate walk with 2 short inclines taking in the lovely village of Cornwell.  About 5 miles

Meet in Chapel Lane, Salford – from Moreton, 1st left at Salford, park on left by hedge/wall. (JP)

ETTINGTON towards PILLERTON HERSEY

A moderate walk with 2 inclines, walking over farmland.  About 5 miles.

Meet in the lay-by on the A429.  From Halford take the A429 north towards Warwick.  Turn left at the sign for Newbold and Alderminster – parking on side of road. Map Ref SP263 480 (JP)

10.00 am Tuesday 7th April

KINETON (Gloucestershire) to GUITING POWER

A fairly easy walk with 1 slope.  We will be walking on tracks and also through woods.   About 4 ½ miles.

Meet in Kineton village, by the Halfway House pub, parking courteously on the road. (JP)

 

10.00 am Tuesday 14th April

GUITING POWER to NAUNTON

A moderate walk with 2 slopes.  Walking over pastureland and on tracks, taking in the western end of Naunton village.  About 5 miles.

Meet in Guiting Power car park, signed from the centre of the village. (JP)

 

10.00 am Tuesday 21st April

CHILDSWICKHAM to WICKHAMFORD

An easy walk over farmland.  About 4 ½ miles.

Meet in the church car park.  Turn into Farmers Lane and bear right at the first grass triangle, then bear left at the 2nd grass triangle.  (JP)

STRETTON ON FOSSE towards COMPTON SCORPION

A moderate walk with 2 inclines, walking over farmland and on tracks.  About 5 miles.

Meet by The Plough Inn in Stretton on Fosse, parking courteously in the village.  (DA)
