Village Hall refurbishment - you are invited to our Grand Re-Opening

Post date: Nov 8, 2018 8:07:43 PM

First, work on the refurbishment is proceeding well. Despite a few snags the building work is complete and the new accessible toilet installed. We have a new floor and the kitchen units and white goods are now being installed. There's still plenty to do but we are now confident that sufficient work will be done to enable us to have a Grand Re-opening celebration on Friday 23rd November at 7pm to which all are invited to come and see how the appeal funds have been spent. Complimentary drinks and nibbles will be served so do please come along and help us celebrate what has been a magnificent effort by Paxford.

Secondly an update on the appeal. I am pleased to report that we have been successful in our grant application to Cotswold District Council and have been awarded £4,000 towards the project. Many thanks to CDC and also to Councillors Jepson and Stowe for their invaluable assistance in securing this award. This means that the appeal total now stands at £22,400. Our latest estimate of total costs is of the order of £23,000 so we are now within a whisker of raising all the funds needed to finish the job as we would wish. Whereas the Village Hall Committee has the wherewithal to bridge the gap by dipping into its reserves, it would be magnificent if someone came forward with a last minute donation. Details on how to do this are on http://www.paxford.org.uk.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd!
